2-9-09 Monday Night, "The Show That Must Not Be Named" presents More from Minneapolis
February 10, 2009 04:59 PM PST
Since I couldn't fit every Prince-related artist or cover artist into my last show, I give you more from Minneapolis on this one, along with some classic covers of Prince tunes. Plus, as per usual on the Monday show, a country tune for Studio B listeners who miss the "twang on the thang." Enjoy...sadly, this'll be the last show for awhile. Wednesday Hump Day Show, 2-4-09
February 05, 2009 07:25 AM PST
The invasion of the Minneapolis Mob! Featuring Prince, The Time, Alexander O'Neal, Cherrelle, Vanity 6, Apollonia 6, The Family, Jill Jones and others associated with or influenced by His Purple Majesty. Plus a couple of non-Prince related artists toward the end of the show. Extra treat, a Batman 'Bale-out' not for the squeamish February 03, 2009 07:27 PM PST
Ground Hog Day, the day before the "Day The Music Died" and I open the show with Frank Sinatra...must be case of the Mondays January 29, 2009 05:48 AM PST
Taking the more laid-back sound to Wednesday nights. More great soul and a couple of choice jazz cuts mixed in. Heck, even a country tune added for good measure January 24, 2009 08:12 AM PST
I stepped in for Studio B DJ Ken and hosted the Friday Night Party Starter. Musically, I dusted off some of my favorite (read "tolerable") disco tunes along with some funk and classic soul. FYI; the technical issues I refer to during the show have been mostly edited out for the benefit of this podcast. Enjoy! Wednesday Afternoon with DJ Juan Ruben, 1/21/09January 22, 2009 05:41 AM PST
Featuring a salute to recently announced 2009 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Bobby Womack and a belated tribute to the late, great Levi Stubbs. My Jazz 101 segment makes its afternoon show debut with a set of classic recordings from a set of jazz giants. Yeah, and the DJ yaks a lot January 20, 2009 08:32 AM PST
As it was Martin Luther King Day in the USA, with the historic inauguration of Barack Obama as our 44th President, I had to do this show. Change is coming indeed! Enjoy! The Big Show with Juan Ruben, 1-17-2009
January 19, 2009 06:12 AM PST
More great soul, r&b, funk and fun along with a return of the Motown Story to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary record label. Unfortunately we had some technical glitches that marred the show at the beginning and end, but overall I think you'll enjoy the music, if not me |
